Why I practice integrative and functional medicine

I strongly believe that your body is designed to heal. As a functional medicine doctor, I’m here to get curious with you. It is a privilege to know your story. Together, we can dig in, restore health, and create trust in your body that it can heal. We need to go WITHIN.

What functional medicine means to me

The body is miraculous in its resiliency and connectivity – everything from the thoughts and beliefs we have, our expectations for our healing journey, the foods we put in our mouths and when we choose to put them there, and the support we feel from our health care providers, loved ones and ourselves. Everything has an impact on this body. If our body is expressing symptoms that are causing us pain or discomfort, I’m here to help you figure out why. You bring your experience and wisdom about your body, and I’ll bring my medical expertise. We can use our curiosity and commitment to getting healthy to guide you back towards balance.

How I can help

The same curiosity that has guided me through many years of study in the traditional realm of western medicine has brought me more deeply to explore eastern medicine, integrative and functional medicine, nutrigenomics, epi-genetics, mind-body medicine, yoga, and herbal medicine. I’m extensively trained in neurology, but I treat patients with a variety of health issues. I love finding the right blend of traditional and integrative practices to serve each patient in their own unique way. Particular areas of expertise include: wellness in general, methylation pathways, neurological symptoms and incorporating self care for patients with neurological conditions, mind-body medicine, anxiety, stroke prevention, vascular health, preventative and longevity medicine.

In my life outside of medical practice, you’ll find me exploring with my three incredible kids and my husband, reading astrology, tinkering in herbalism and foraging the woods for a new herb or plant to explore, practicing kundalini yoga, cooking, writing, and dreaming up our next adventure.

I am so excited to meet you and be your partner in healing!
