Results-Driven Management of Your Thyroid Conditions
How does functional medicine treat thyroid conditions differently?

Vytal Health physicians are doctors trained in functional medicine, which means they take a whole-person, comprehensive approach to uncovering the root causes of your thyroid imbalance. They know there is more to thyroid health than just checking TSH levels. In combination with in-depth lab testing and consultations, your physician will create a management plan that aims to not only get your hormone levels in range but also help to resolve the root cause if possible. This plan may include prescriptions, pharmaceutical-grade supplements, and lifestyle recommendations that are specific to your condition.

What to expect during your first consultation:

Before coming to Vytal Health, patients were left feeling frustrated and unheard during the brief 15 minutes they got to spend with their primary care doctor or endocrinologist. That’s why your first consultation with us is 60-minutes long, giving you ample time to discuss your symptoms, medical and family history, lifestyle, past experiences treating your thyroid condition (if applicable), and what you’re currently experiencing. Your success is our success, and with us, it starts by listening.

What tests are used to determine thyroid conditions?

Most traditional clinicians approach the management of thyroid disorders with checking and reacting to only a single blood test: TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone). While TSH is an important indicator of thyroid health, it isn’t the only one. At Vytal Health, we take a more comprehensive view of the thyroid, evaluating not only TSH, but also Free T4 (FT4), Free T3 (FT3), thyroid antibodies, and sometimes other thyroid biomarkers. We also often check levels of nutrients important in thyroid function, like iron, magnesium, iodine, and selenium.

How does Vytal Health support you throughout your management plan?

After your first follow-up appointment, you’ll be given a personalized management plan specific to your thyroid condition. To make sure you are comfortable and confident with your doctor’s recommendations, your personal Vytal Health care concierge will check-in with you periodically to see how your progress is coming along and if you have any questions or concerns. Your plan isn’t just meant to make you feel better, but it’s also intended to help you regain control of your health, that’s why we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
